MiG-23s?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,I've been looking around everywhere for a freeware MiG-23, but all I find is a payware by Alphasim. Does anyone know of any good freeware ones? Anything that's for FS2004 that I can use in FSX? Anything that's easy for FSX porting over?Regards, Dave

You can try the MiG-27 from IRIS, its ex-payware. You can get it from here:http://www.irissimulations.com/the-hangar.phpthere's a MiG-29 available there as well as many other ex-payware Jet fighters. The MiG-27 is a ground attack version of the MiG-23. It shares the same basic airframe of the MiG-23, but with a revised nose of a downward-sloping profile for improved pilot visibility. Also you can try the MiG-23 model from Kazunori Ito:http://www.flightsim.com/file.php?cm=SEARC...fname=MIG23.ZIPfilename: mig23.zip , from Flightsim.comhttp://www.flightsim.com/file.php?cm=SEARC...me=mig23g27.zipfilename: mig23g27.zip , from Flightsim.comand there's also an additional alternative panel for it here:http://www.flightsim.com/file.php?cm=SEARC...me=migpanel.zipfilename: migpanel.zip , from Flightsim.com

These ones will drop into FSX:http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/perlfect...ll&q=MiG-23The gauges included with them are not compatible with FSX, so you'll have to find a panel, but the aircraft itself works great in FSX, the wings can be swung with the flaps keys in FS, the gear animation works okay, lights work alright etc, etc. And it flies very well indeed, in fact it's great fun for blasting around in. Gets very good FPS too.Al

Thanks Chock. I've been thinking about swapping a few gauges with the ones from Kirk Olsson's F-86 (the one updated by the Nor-Cal Prop Club for FSX) though, so that I'll get a fully functional virtual cockpit.
