July 15, 201015 yr :( This my first time requesting help in this forum, I hope someone will be able to help me.After starting FSX and selecting any plane and flying it for a while it is not possible to switch the plane after the flight is finished, simple the "Select Aircraft" screen is empty.Perhaps some one has had a similar problem, which by the way, start happening with out nothing changed or added to FSX, but the usual Windows XP SP3 updates.Any help will be helpfull before reinstall FSX.Thanks for your attentionpapaoscarbravo

Have you landed and parked the aircraft and/or selected the "end flight" option?Outline for us, step by step, exactly what you are doing before you attempt to change aircraft.

Once this is done FSX returns to the Select Aircraft screen. Is this screen, where I did select the plane for the previous flight which is blank, white, with no airplane thumbnail to select, but if you click on the possible possition of a plane and press OK usually you get the same plane of your last and finished flight. The only way to get the thumbnails again is closing FSX and restart it, then you have again the "Select Aircraft" screen.I hpe this can give you a hint of what is going on and probably help me to solve it.Thanks for your AttentionCristian
July 17, 201015 yr Moderator Are you flying in full screen mode? If so, try hitting ALT ENTER before you end the flight and see if that makes any difference.Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160

July 23, 201015 yr Tell us more about your system. What changes have you made recently. Any messages in the event viewer? Any new drivers?Sorry for the long delay in answering, many problems and no flying at all. Well I have a modest Phenom x4 , 3 gHz on a Asus M3N-HT Deluxe, 4 GB RAM, with a Zotac 9800GT video card and two 500 GB Seagate HD, all this on XP SP3.As the problem was no easy to solve, I found a previous HD (160gB Seagate, in not to good working conditions, which got faulty after the big earthquake of February in our country [Chile]) where I had a clon of my actual hard disk with FSX. I copied all the FSX directories stored in Document and settings and now is working correctly. It will take a while to compare all the files (backed up, copied and working and the faulty ones) Once I get to know which of the many files is the one which caused that FSX behaviour I will post this information in this forum since it can help some one to fix his same problem.I guess is not a bad idea to keep a backup copy of the files kept in Document and Settings of the FSX files, since I cannot even suppose what was I did wrong.BTW after copying the file the HD definitively got defunct, now in the garbage can. Thanks to all for your attention and help.Cristian :(
