July 16, 201015 yr I got following message from ATC...cleared to Albany via radar vector to BDK join V91 to Albany...I do not know what is meant by a radar vector to BDK ( which is a VOR station )Do I just fly to BDK using my VOR instrument ? Or will ATC provide the vector whichis the course to fly ?Next question : how do I know that I join the V91 airwwayThanksGubert Werni
July 16, 201015 yr Commercial Member It means ATC is going to provide you with radar vectors, which are heading commands from the controller based on where you're located on the radar display. After passing BDK, you'll be under your own navigation along V91. V91 is defined by a course from BDK along one of its radials. You know where you are along it either by the radial + DME or by crossing radials from other VORs in addition to the one you're tracking outbound on. If you don't understand what that means, I'd suggest reading up on basic IFR navigation. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
