I installed the Eletra downloaded from this site in FSX. At Virtual Cockpit view in the no one sees through the glass, like mirrors ...Is this "normal" anyway?

I noticed that as soon I choose the Virtual Cockpit, the transparency of glass is normal and seconds later, than comes out looking mirror . Hi Ant,I think your problem with the transparency of glass has to do with the alpha channel. You can edit it with a good deal of effort, but you'll have to spend some time gathering the tools to do it. Your problem with the alpha channel is probably to do with your plane being an FS9 import since FSX reads the alpha channel differently.Look in the plane's texture folder for a bitmap called glass.bmp or something similar. If you can't find it then you may be sunk.You can experiment with the glass textures from some other planes, renaming the bitmaps approriately, but if this doesn't work then you'll need to edit the alpha channel with an image editing tool such as Gimp:http://www.gimp.org/downloads/Before you edit the file with this tool you'll have to remove the mipmaps with the Aces Image Tool which you'll find in the FSX SDK. You'll also find it on the web, as I did, but a quick look just now turned up nothing. It may take some searching the find it.If you succeed with your aplha channel edit then use the Image Tool to replace the mipmaps.I hope this helps, and good luck with the editing.

This is the FS KBT model, right? There should be some tutorials here on AVSIM or on other websites such as FlightSim.com that provides basic tutorial about converting aircraft textures. Generally the Electras work with no problem on FSX. Note that the Electra I've downloaded comes from Simviation, so from the page where the plane would normally appear for download, FS KBT also provides hotfixes for the Electras. I don't seem to see any VC window fixes however. Regards, Dave

I found a file called G_REFRECT.bmp, but could not open it with any image editor. I deleted it. I'm using two planes: the Electra_Pass and Electra_Cargo. For the first plane I replaced the file by B737_800C.bmp and the second by C172_C.bmp. Now everything is working normally.Your tip was valuable! :(
