July 19, 201015 yr Hello,As I'm building my new system specs, the salesman suggested the CoolerMaster Sniper for my Intel i7 980X. Do you think thhat will do? will it support an overclocking? The RAM, since I couldn't find the corsair , will be a Kingston DDR3 1600mhz 12GB and the MOBO an ASUS P6T. Grphics: GTX 480. What do you guys think?Any suggestions? Thanks again,Lucas.
July 19, 201015 yr The case looks good to me.I would install 6Gb of RAM instead. You won't really need 12 and it would limit your OCASUS boards, at least AM3 ones suffer from some Vdrop. Not sure about 1366 ASUS boards, but if they do that too, I'd go for a Gigabyte
July 19, 201015 yr I'm not sure a GTX480 would fit in that case as it I'd rather small and 5870's struggle to fit.

What do you guys think?Any suggestions? Thanks again,Lucas.I have a CM Storm Sniper, Its a great air cooled case for the price, Lots of room for running wires, Lots of air-flow. Some guys are switching out the stock fan controller for a touch fan controller like the those from Aero Cool or the Nxzt. The intel 980X and GTX480 are top level choices. The P6T is a solid choice, although it lacks usb3 and Sata6. ( That may or may not matter to you ) You may consider one of the P6X58D series or going with the P6T Deluxe V2 motherboardand later adding a card ike the Asus U3S6, the card would give you two additional usb3 ports and two sata6 ports.I agree with Dazz, go with 6Gb of ram Take the savings and invest a little more in the MoboCheersData
July 21, 201015 yr Sorry I must be thinking of the Coolermaster Storm Scout. My bad.My Cooler Master Storm ScoutThe 480 GTX fits nicely in a Storm Scout case, although a 295 GTX or an ATI 5970 would not without modifications.Although it weighs a ton, it can be moved and carried fairly easily too. The Cooler Master Storm series are great cases IMHO. They are easy to build into and run very cool.Stephen
