July 20, 201015 yr This is not Flightsim related but its bothering me and maybe someone here knows what this is. I was entering some Numbers on an excel spreadsheet and Whenever I enter 07-8569 It turns it into Jul-69 ignoring the excel format. Does anybody here know what this is all about? :(

If so you should be formatting the cells in the column as text before you start entering the data. While you are at it you should be setting the formatting in other columns for things like currency and fixed number of decimal places. Remember that you can save workbooks with formatting, but without the actual data, if you want to create similar workbooks in the future. You might also try typing a space as the first character " 07-8569" instead of "07-8569". If instead you are wanting to subtract numbers you will need to type an equals sign as the first character.

I had other cells formatted the way I wanted and was using general format for the Med Rec Number when I encountered the issue. Thanks to Avsim Member I was able to find away to do it. Thank you for the tips as well.
