Just installed FSX Gold Edition with Acceleration Pack for first time (on new PC). Are there any additional patches or updates that need to be acquired to bringthe installation "up to date"? Any additional tips regarding FSX add-ons, settings, etc. are more than welcome.Thank you,Ken Boardman 20 year+ FS (ab)user System specs > Win 7 64bit, EVGA E760, i7 930 OC 4.3ghz, EVGA GTX 480 SC, gSkill 6gb,Enermax Galaxy 1250W PSU, Corsair H50 with PP, CH Stick, Throttle, Pedals

Acceleration includes all the patches. I would review the pinned sticky at the top of this forum regarding the BP=0 tweak.Best regards,Jim

Ken - Save yourself some grief - if you installed FSX to the default C:\ProgramFiles(x86) folder in W7 64 - uninstall it and reinstall to it's own folder outside of the ProgramFiles(x86) folder.W7 treats files within that folder differently and this can cause problems with FSX and many add-ons.Vic

Hi Vic, Thanks for the advice. Fortunately I was aware of this concern before installing and I purchased a Raptor 300 for FS > likely overkill, but should give the Sim plenty of room to roam ~;) What 3rd party add-ons are you using with FSX. I'd appreciate recommendations for the ones that you enjoy.Best regards,Ken

I would purchase one or two of the PMDG products (747/MD11) to start with. I really like the Pacific NW scenery by FTX (http://fullterrain.com/). It's the latest and greatest IMHO. I would also take a look at the detailed airports rendered by FSDreamteam (http://www.fsdreamteam.com/). That should keep you occupied for a couple of years... :( Best regards,Jim

Thanks Jim. I'll be after the PMDG A/C. I really liked their FS9 B737, and B747. And I'll take alook at the FTX scenery and FSdreamteam airports.I need a good AIRBUS series (A318, A319, A320). I used PSS Airbuses in FS9 but I don't believe that they are compatible with FSX so I'llneed to hope for another solution.Best regards,Ken
