FMC data base wiped out!

Featured Replies

I was starting a flight from KLAX to KSEA and I entered KLAX/KSEA and it said not in data base. I had to reinstall flight sim and the MD-11 and something is missing. :(

:C/program files(X86)/microsoft games/microsoft flight simulator X/PMDG there should be 2 folders, one called navdata and one called sidstar, both full of .TXT filesif you dont have Win7 then dont worry about the X85 in brackets

You should have both KLAX.txt and KSFO.txt files in the sidstar folder. If you just reloaded the sim and have not updated data then they are out of date but so is the navdata and it should work. You will get an empty page if it can't find any stored routes for KLASKSFO, return to the FPLN page to continue. See FMS.10.8Are you getting a message that says NOT IN DATABASE?? That is weird. You should have the following files in the navdata folder (among others): airport.dat; wpNavAPT.txtYou should have the airport files in the sidstar folder. If you have all this I recommend a trouble ticket with pmdg support on their web site.

Ah ha! I wonder if that could be one of the symptoms. Now we know. Thanks for the update Michael.
