Aircraft spot view lighting

Featured Replies

Having been out of simming for a good while, I have noticed a problem I don't remember having before. If I go into spot view of the aircraft while in flight at night, I don't see my strobes flashing. Well, sometimes I do but just for a second and then not again during the flight. If I go into tower view, I see all the proper lights. Is this normal and I've just forgotten that it didn't work, or have I developed a problem? If some kind soul will confirm this during a night flight, I would appreciate it.The only add-ons I'm running for FSX are UTX, GEX, and Active Sky evolution. This happens whether Active Sky is loaded or not, however. Also, if someone knows of this and has a solution, I would be grateful.System - AMD 64X2 4200 2GB Ram Nvidia 7800GT Plenty of free HD space. This has been my system since FSX came out.

Thank you.

Using the FSX default Baron at night, the strobe lights displayed in all views at all times they were on.

Thanks for the reply. Guess I'll have to start looking for the problem and trying to fix it.

Thank you.

Success. I found the problem. Apparently, either when I did a repair or updated some software, I lost my fx_2 file in my effects folder. After opening the strobe fx files and seeing what file it was referencing, I had my answer. I fortunately had saved some fx files before all the updates and was able to retrieve it. Now all is good.BTW, it's also nice to have the SDK. It pointed me in the right direction.

Thank you.
