FRAPS files are big, and they write to your 'my videos' folder (usually in 'my documents') unless you specify otherwise with a different location. That means if your computer is using virtual memory to run FS, it will suddenly have something else writing big files to the locations it may be already using as temporary RAM. If you use virtual memory, you can get around that by specifying VM to a different drive, or the FRAPS video write location to another drive, that way, VM and FRAPS files that are being written won't clash with one another and argue over what goes where, and frame rates will improve.Of course if you have craploads of space free on your drive, it is less of an issue, but it is worth noting all the same.Al

Your fraps is working properly.Typically you're going to get a huge drop in frames, because fraps is a very CPU intensive program.

Hello,I don't have any big drop in frames...Just use properly FRAPS (see my tutorial and my videos)Regards.bye.gifGus

I find GameCam the best compromise. It has the least performance hit, and the files it creates are small. You do lose a little quality though, because of video compression, but all in all it's not bad! I make my FSX videos with it. In FSX though it does have a problem when FS9 model aircraft is used, it whites out. FSX modeled aircraft is ok, and it only happens with Nvidia cards, ATI cads are ok. Not sure if this is an issue with FS9 itself, but like FRAPS, you can download a demo version first to see if it's a problem. You can get it here!http://v2.planetgamecam.com/?locid=news
