Hello all,When I am on approach, I set my spoilers to "armed" and set autobrakes to "auto." My question is, when does autobrakes disengage? I believe I read somewhere that I should not reverse thrust until I am 80kts or lower, why is that?

If you don't tell us what plane you are flying, it's impossible to say something that makes sense. Usually (afaik) the autobrakes disengage when you touch the brakes briefly, but maybe that was only true for the planes I flew with features like that. Speeds and things like that are really completely plane dependant, so there is nothing you can say about that in general. I'm no expert but in order to get answers from the experts, please post what plane you are talking about. :(

Have a read of this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thrust_reversalYou'll see you've got the reverse thrust the wrong way round - apply it when you land, but turn it off before you slow down too much, to avoid damage.I think (but I'd need to check) that if you're using FSPAX you'll get a black mark for using reverse thruster when you're too slow.As to autobrakes, I think you'll find that with the LDS767 you need to turn them off to regain brake control (though again I'd need to check) - the point made by J van E is right, "it depends" on what plane you're using.

I am flying with the PMDG 747.Thanks for the info.

I was under the impression that reverse thrust is usually disengaged when your speed has reduced to approximately 70 knots....

You are correct. I am misinformed. So, autobrakes is disengaged if I manually press on the brakes. Anything else?
