August 10, 201015 yr I can't figure this out: as some airport sceneries are getting older and older what happens to their underlying headings and ILS facilities vs. newer navdata? Is it possible just to edit ILS headings in their AFCADs to be able to autoland with the current navdata (in FMC, MCDU etc)? But what about graphical representation of those runways in FS world? Won't they show old directions (like older ILS headings vs. current navdata)? If so, is it possible in AFCAD to change runway headings along with the corresponding ILS headings, frequences and designators of the stock big airports, so that my planes could do autoland with the newer navdata on the centerline of runways? I think I tried to change some ILS and runways in fs9 a while ago but ADE said it could not remove/modify some parameters in the stock bgls.Thanks,Dirk.

The direction of the beam is fixed by the configuration of the antennas. If you need to add or change the characteristics of an ILS, it can be done with ADE or AFCAD. If runway designation changes, that involves some more work.Ultimately, though, if you are going to update the navdata for 3rd party addons you are going to have to accept that it might not work perfectly in the sim. I suppose at some point there might be a community effort to do a full update of the navdata in the sim.In the past an updated magdec.bgl file was done for fs9, I suppose one could be done for FSX as well to correct compass readings.scott s..
