AI recommendations

I recently upgraded my system with a new one from Dell and am finally bringing FS9 back to it's former glory. Now comes the time when I must decide on which AI packages I should install. In the past I used WoAI and PAI packages, but honestly I can't remember which one was better since they were both mixed. Has anyone done any comparisons between the two to see which one has better frame rates, definition, etc? Is there something else on the horizon I should be looking at instead of WoAI and PAI?

I originally purchased Ultimate Traffic for 2004 when it first came out. However after the initial 'wow' wore off, I found it sorely lacking in several areas. The models didn't look good (good flight dynamics though). To keep it short; I still use UT2004 for flights not provided by anyone else such as very small Alaskan commuter stuff. I found that UT2004 is loaded with stuff like float plane and helicopter flights that are of no use. So, . . . I use Alpha India flight plans (which gives me control of aircraft, paints and updates), augmented with other 3rd party flight plans that pretty much cover every current operational airline and commuter service in the world. I do the flight plan updating every winter and summer, changing aircraft liveries as necessary. Yes it does involve a lot of work but it gives me the option to use all of the best models available. Almost forgot, I also use a 3rd party general aviation flight plan for whole world along with some Ultimate GA flight plans and some float plane flight plans and Afcad files of my own creation. If you do not have the time or do not want to invest the time to go the do it yourself route like I have, then the WOAI and PAI work fine and both will have good points and bad. Regardless of what you decide, be aware that the flight plans without Afcad's to support the traffic won't work well, meaning the default MSFS2004 airports will not handle the added traffic. Please forgive the wordy answer as I'm sure you are already aware of most of what I mentioned but, . . . just in case, I thought it worth repeating. Good luck with your 'rebuilding' project.Best regards,Mel

Thanks for the detailed response. After looking into UT, it looks as though their UT2 product only supports FSX, which is a shame. Comparatively speaking, UT vs UT2 there's a huge difference in detail of the AI. Because I am so entrenched with the add-ons I have for FS9, I won't be moving to FSX for quite some time. Guess I'll need to re-evaluate WoAI and PAI again.
