August 14, 201015 yr hello all,as you see from screen, i have a bad water view above black line. actually i dont know if it is a problem or not, so i am waiting for your comments about following screenshot; sight distance: 110 milecloud distance: 60 milehow can i deal with this? Uygar Best Regards
August 14, 201015 yr Hi,You need to reduce your visibility distance and that is why the other poster asked about AS or REX becuase you can do that through those programs or a paid version of FSUIPC. Yes, I know you can do it through the Weather page in FS, but you have to do it every time you open FSX and that can get pretty old, pretty fast.
August 14, 201015 yr This is actually normal but with reduced visibility you can't see it as much. There's a ring around the aircraft that is detailed and beyond that you get the mush. There's a tweak to extend the mush farther out but I'll have to search for it. It's here in the forums. A good weather program, Zinertek's water textures, and Rex patch this up quite nicely. Throw in Flight1's Ground Environment and your good to go... August 14, 201015 yr Author thanks for replies,I am using aktive sky 6.5 and rex for fs 2004 but i don't prefer rex weather engine, im using active sky's weather engine. and i have FSUİPC registered version. Let me know how i can configure these programs to deal with this bad view as possible as we can. Uygar Best Regards
August 14, 201015 yr You can set max visibility in AS, try 60 miles to see if it works.Even better are the visibility settings in FSUIPC. Consult the manual :)
August 14, 201015 yr Author I set my visibility to 39 mile in active sky and my sight distance to 80 mile and cloud draw distance 40 mile in fs9. But now i have too foggy view and i can see weird water texture a bit which i mentioned before. After some research on avsim, I have found a solution, its name is "soft horizon" by john. I also tried "soft horizon" package to get rid of this. It really looks great but it seems to overwrite my rex sky textures. Now, Is there anyway to use "soft horizon" textures with rex sky textures? Uygar Best Regards
August 14, 201015 yr Hi,1. Use REX and submit textures.2. Copy John's textures into FS.3. Start FS.4. Do #1-3 each time you fly.

After i submit rex texture into fs9 i send john's textures to texture folder, and it overwrites rex sky textures, therefore i cant see rex sky textures anymore. In brief, i want to use both soft horizon and rex sky textures. Any idea? Uygar Best Regards
August 15, 201015 yr Surely John's textures do not over-write every REX texture, just the ones that create the soft horizon. Don't copy John's sky texture over and you'll use the REX sky texture.
August 15, 201015 yr Problem being you can't have both. Soft horizons is a set of sky textures, and will overwrite the rex ones. Soft horizons does indeed work a treat though.

This is bad news for me. Although Sky textures of REX is told to have soft horizons, I will go on using Soft Horizons since it is simply better than REX on this subject. Thanks for your reply..
