Plane crashes while taxi

Featured Replies

Hello,When I taxi through the various taxiways at Aerosoft's Barajas Airport, my plane suddenly just crashes. I have disabled crash detect in the FSX realism settings and also disabled it in the FSPassengers options. It also happens usually around the same spot. My flight ends and the word "Crash!" appears. Does anyone know what possible reasons there are as to why this is happening? Any ideas?

You shouldnt get that crash message with crash disabled. I had this weird situation where my plane always crashed when I was flying over the threshold at KLGA rwy 22 at about 50 ft, with crash detection disabled the plane got thrown about 2-3000 feet into the air. It also happened at a bunch of other airports, but only when the runway started in the water like it does at KLGA 22. After a bunch of googling I found a post suggesting to set the mesh resolution setting to lower than maximum. I think I put the slider two clicks down from maximum. This fixed my issue. Maybe there's something similar going on at your airport. Try to reduce the the mesh resolution

I have never experienced this with crash detection off.I can say that I have had it off for years - too many false crashes with add ons and I don't want my flight to end just because I clipped a building or some rogue AI aircraft get is my way. I know if I hosed a landing and I don't need the sim to rub it in.

I have reduced mesh resolution but that did not fix the problem. Thanks for the suggestion though. In the realism setting, I have disabled "detect object collision" but kept detect stress damage. I have also disabled collision detection with FSPassengers. However, maybe I should just select the option that removes crash of all sorts including stress damage, and perhaps that would fix the problem. How should I configure my FSPassenger settings?

I had such porblems when:- I bumped into an AI plane for some reason that I couldn't see (in my opinion I was quite far away from the AI plane, but the sim apparently disagreed);- There is an invisible object in the way;- Something's wrong with the elevation, making the plane "stutter" and crash. For all of these, completely turning of all crash detection helped. I suggest you do that too. I'm afraid I can't help you with FSPassengers, though...
