August 16, 201015 yr Everything is in the title.....I just bought a GTX 460 and the frame rate did not improve at all.I am tired trying to follow all the tweak for little to none result.....Maybe I am doing something wrongCould I upload my FSX.CFG to someone and could help me to set it up.By the way I have a Core2duo E6750. I know it is not a fast CPU.But if could get an average of 10FPS (I am not asking a lot)it would be greatI love UTII and I know it is a frame killer and also UTX USA and Europe.....Thanks

An i7 - 760 would be a cheap and fast replacement.jja Jim Allen[email protected]SkyPilot Software home of FSXAssist / P3DAssist
August 24, 201015 yr Since you just installed the video card start by deleting the 'fsx.cfg' file and run FSX to rebuild it.Are you using FSX sp1 and sp2 service packs? You should use them.First in FSX options set frame rate to limited 20, and select Trilinear filtering and AA set to on. (however you can use nHancer for different AA settings which do help)I use a frame rate limit of 20 and the sim is smooth as silk.If you trash the 'fsx.cfg' file just delete it and let FSX rebuild it.Add the following to the newly created 'fsx.cfg' file --under the [GRAPHICS] heading add the line HIGHMEMFIX=1under the [DISPLAY] heading add the line TEXTUREMAXLOAD=9 add the line FORCEFULLSCREENVSYNC=1If your video card memory is under 1MB ('UsePools=1' means use system memory only, now the 'Poolsize' value is experimental in nature and is in bytes so lets try 8MB) add this section[bUFFERPOOLS]USEPOOLS=1POOLSIZE=8000000If your video card memory is equal to or over 1MB ('UsePools=0' means use the video card memory only) add this section[bUFFERPOOLS]USEPOOLS=0------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------You need to go through the below posts to gain a better understanding of what is going on and what to do.I am not sure how many people really understand it completely. I know I don't.Nick's Tuning Guide here --> http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=29041Jesus Tweaks here -- > http://forum.avsim.net/tutorials/article/64-the-bp0-conclusions/addition info -check out nHancerhttp://forum.avsim.net/topic/291720-how-to-set-aa-in-fs9-and-fsx-for-nvidias-2xxxx-drivers-now-with-working-transparency-aa/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frame_ratehttp://www.100fps.com/how_many_frames_can_humans_see.htm-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------good luck and let us know how it goes
September 2, 201015 yr Author Hi there,I used the paid service of High Flight Simulation and I have to say everything is smooth as silk (of course I have to give up to some nice graphics). The problem I have know is that sometimes when I start FS it is smooth but sometimes I have 1 FPS....so unflyable at all.....2 days ago FS was smooth and yesterday I wanted to start a new flight and I had 1 FPS only......I don't understand why that......I didn't change anything in FSX.CFG or in my setup

You'll have to learn, as we did, how to tune your system. You will be able to do this over time.Remember that 'smooth' is more important that a high frame rate.
