Hi allI have uninstalled RC4 by mistake. After reinstalling RC4.0 and then RC4.01 update, the program refuses to start with the error message that RCV3.dat is missing.I have done a search by exlorer, and there was no such file anywhere.Where can I get this file?Peter

First, send an e-mail requesting a link to get the RC 4.3 update. This will clear up a lot of issues. Be sure to include the e-mail address you ordered from. The normal support address is [email protected] which seems to be up at the moment. Repost here if there is a problem.If you are in VISTA or Win 7 be sure you log in with admin privileges and then right click on RCV4.exe to run it as admin. It is best, by the way, not to install RC under any folder in the program files tree. The create a shortcut to RC with the property to set it to run as admin. When you run the RC4 for the first time it should create the files in the specified folder including rcv3.dat and then go into the registration process. If your original received key does not work then go through the registration process. After you get the key you run it again and your key will be added to one of the files.At this point insure you correctly point to your FS folder and the folder to where your FS plans, .wxr, and .flt files are stored. When RC gets to the scenery rebuild it will request your full FS path again (I recommend you place it in a .txt file for copy/paste for easy retrieval each time you run scenery rebuild) to create the RC airport information derived from your scenery installation. If you are registering from a different address than the one you originally acquired RC from then place the original e-mail address in the registration e-mail form in the content area. You might have to send it to jd@ instead of register@. Be sure that jdtllc.com is allowed through your ISP and your spam filters.After the installation is complete get the latest released FSUIPC for your FS version and the latest makerwys.exe (it is in the the FS9 section but good for both) from http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html . After overwriting the install versions of these open RC and run the scenery rebuild again. Makerwys 4.41 and above fix some scenery priority issues in creating the database.It is also best in VISTA and Win 7 to start FS with a shortcut setting it to run as admin as well so processed files can get back into your specified FS folder.
