September 5, 201015 yr Hi, Was wondering where could I find how the whole weather system workis FS? I wonder if you coudl set up a grid of weater stations and feed it real time. Seems to me that way you could even conceivably make a s big weather system like a hurricane or follow fronts correctly...Macs

September 5, 201015 yr Obviously you are looking for a weather engine independent of Fs9. You will need FSUIPC as well. There is a tollerably good free weather engine called FSMetar. You will also need decent clouds. In which case try Pablo Diaz' found in the avsim library.vololiberista Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA
September 5, 201015 yr Author Thanks to both for your help. Is there a file where the weather info (METAR) can be accessed in flight? Just curious.regards.

There are also many little programmes you can download to access a METAR through your kneeboard.vololiberista Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA

I'd actually want to "feed in" the data myself instead of FS doing it. I wanted to see if I could set up a "grid" where each coordinate corresponds to a particular local weather picture. I figure if you make this grid small enough (within what FS allows of course), you could simulate things like hurricanes somewhat accurately, or something of the sort. Since I have never messed with weather in FS, was not sure where to start or if it was possible at all? Thanks again for your help, regards,Macs
September 6, 201015 yr As far as I know, weather can only be set for a weather station. You can see these stations on the map in the world > weather settings. You'll have to find an area with lots of weather stations close together and then set the weather for each one individually inside FS9.
