Engine startup and touchdown smoke as well as contrails affected. It was suggested it might be a couple of corrupt textures files , but I don't know how to replace them from the installation DVDs. I've tried repairing to no avail. The files might be fx_1.bmp and fx_smoke.bmp. But I don't even know if that will fix things.

Hi, I had the same problem and tried to fix with buying some new contrails. However finally had to reinstall textures to get it right. I now keep a backup folder of textures so I can get to them easier.CaptMac

Not sure if this is a texture problem, I had similar issues when I used BP=0. After adding a bufferpool those artifacts disappeared.

A reinstall fixed it.
