September 10, 201015 yr Has anybody else experienced a random ATC "chatter" sound file that plays over and over? It goes something like - Unintelligle radio chatter (mutter, mutter, mutter" --- then a reply from an American "pilot" voice saying "Thanks very much, we love you." It just keeps repeating itself over and over. It's not all the time - it seems to happen randomly. I am pretty sure it was added by that wonderful freeware Voice Mod program - I think when you use the option to accelerate the speech rate to a more "real world" speed. Not complaining about Voice Mod Pack (or whatever it's called - it's a wonderful program.) But I sure would like to get rid of this annoying file. Does anybody have any idea how to do so?
September 10, 201015 yr I think the sound is probably in the compressed gvp file, where all the atc sounds are kept. To mute it manually, you would have to do a bit of programming and find the offset for the sounds location, and then do something there to silence it. I also think this sound is actually a background sound that is meant to be played when an atc sound is played (to give it a bit of authenticity). What that might mean is that there is a blank sound being played by ATC (due to EVP editing) and it's automatically adding a background to that (if that makes sense?)I could be wrong - there might be an individual wav file somewhereCheers,Bryn Streaming at twitch.tv/brynmwr

If I could identify and delete the .wav file, do you think that would solve the issue without having to try to reprogram the gvp file? (Sounds scarey!) :(
September 10, 201015 yr I have used EDVP for years with ATC acceleration mode as well.I have never had any problems with random ATC messages garbling in the background.Nowt worse than yur random garblers.Andy
September 10, 201015 yr HelloIts a rather tedious process but you could check your WAV in the main FS9 sound folder(I have done this myself)look for possible clues in the name of the file individual files ie ATC.WAV or CHATTER.WAV or suchlike just click on each file and your media player will open automatically and play it for you.One of my hated sound files was the auto-trimming sound in some aircraft I just had to find it no matter how long it took AND KILL IT! the swine. If you can find the file either delete it,or if your worried you may need it in the future just rename it and it should be gone PUFF,SHAZZAM, atc will garble you no more.cheers Andy

Ughhhh! Okay, I will start checking through the sound folder and see if I can find the little bugger. If not, it's tolerable....
