JS41: VC and Sound questions

Featured Replies

Hello,I have 2 questions regarding the JS41:1) I have 2 VC definitions in the plane with exactly the same view settings. Is this normal or just a bug from the installer (I'm using a german FSX SP2)?That's what I found in the aircraft.cfg file:[Cameradefinition.001]Title=Virtual CockpitGuid = {71C2B84D-4B1D-47fe-9F37-C60FC11B2F3C}Description = Virtual Cockpit ViewOrigin = Virtual CockpitMomentumEffect = NoSnapPbhAdjust = SwivelSnapPbhReturn = FalsePanPbhAdjust = SwivelPanPbhReturn = FalseTrack = NoneShowAxis = YESAllowZoom = TRUEInitialZoom = 0.50SmoothZoomTime = 2.0ZoomPanScalar = 1.0ShowWeather = YesXyzAdjust = TRUEShowLensFlare=FALSECategory = CockpitPitchPanRate=30HeadingPanRate=75InitialXyz=0.0, 0.0, 0.0InitialPbh=22.0, 0, 0PanAcceleratorTime=0HotKeySelect=12) I'de like to turn down the sound volume of the engine. I have a PMDG Sounds menu entry but when I turn down the sound volume there, nothing happens. Is it possible to setup the sound volume in a configuration file? Thanks a lot for an answer.Regard,Torsten

Hello Torsten,to lower the engine sound volume, you need to change the FSX global sound setting. A different approach would be to edit the sound files and lower their volume. This can be done with the standard Windows audio recorder or freeware like Audacity. Just adjust the volume as you see fit and save the files.

Hello Alexander,Thanks for your answer regarding the sound volume.Do you also have an idea about the duplicate VC views? Thanks a lot.Regards,Torsten.

The sounds are loud but that's because that's how they sound in real. However they volume levels will be lowered in incoming SP2, I got used to them already.

No, I am afraid not.But unless the duplicate entry is causing problems I would just ignore it.I know that the program FSRecorder creates a clone of the main VC view called "FSRecorder VC". Maybe this is it. But that is just a guess.Regards

Hello,@Grzegorz: Yes, I know that it reflects the real volume level. I'd just like to lower them for myself... :(@Alexander: It doesn't create problems. It justs confusing me a little bit because other planes (PMDG too) doesn't have duplicate VC views. I don't use FSRecorder.Regards,Torsten.

First thing, you need to sign your full name to ALL of your posts in this forum per forum rules, thanks.http://forum.avsim.net/topic/245586-you-must-sign-your-full-real-name-to-posts-to-use-this-forum-posts-without-names-will-be-deleted/You only listed the one camera definition, where's the other one? I am not at my home comp so can't check my own, but if it as much as has a different title, such as Cameradefinition.002, then leave it be since it is most likely being referenced in the code or panel.cfg.You could always just back up the file and delete the duplicate entry and run it to see what change happens. It is most likely tied to clickable areas of some sort.

Hello Dan,Sorry for not keeping enough attention to the forum rules...

I couldn't find a duplicate camera view definition in the aircraft.cfg.
I just have 2 main VC views within FSX. One with the title of the aircraft.cfg (the view I had posted before) and another one with a german title (I use a german FSX).

When I press F9, or loading the plane in FSX, it always jumps to the view defined in the aircraft.cfg.
I have attached a picture to demonstrate it. -->

All click spots are working in all the VC views. So there is no "real" problem with it.

If it is just a strange behaviour of FSX, I could live with it and put it in my box labeled "FSX curiosities"

Big%20Grin.gifRegards,Torsten
