Radio Altimeter Question

Featured Replies

I noticed that when talking off the radio altimeter always stays at 200 and does not move up as I imagine it should. The manual says that once the radio altimeter shows 400 that some actions have to be performed.Question: why would the altimeter not increase as I expect it ?Thanks for your helpHubert Werni

Do you see the radio altimeter as a green line on the altitude indicator?

I believe the 200 does not change, unless you change it. It is the DH (Decision Height) isn't it?

Isn't the Radio Altimeter read out on the Primary Flight Display, at the bottom of the Artificial Horizon ? That should definately change as you climb.:( Regards.David Harrison.
Thanks.Problem solved.I looked at the altitude tape and was under the impression that figure ( which always remains at 200 ) wassupposed to change.

200 is the DH bug. The RA is at the bottom of the ADI.Paul
