AFCAD help

Featured Replies

I am trying to modify my Flightscenery Rhode Island AFCAD for Providence (KPVD) but when I do it messes up the ground textures (I get bleed through problems). Is there anything I can do to modify the AFCAD without messing up the scenery? The parking file is a AFCAD not not ADE or AFX. The scenery was released way before those programs were made.

ADE9X will not change any existing elevation properties unless you run its leveling/elevation tool. It does not have built in defaults like AFCAD had nor will it install any excludes that do not exist. Make a backup and load the AFCAD in as a a direct .bgl file.Using AFCAD I noticed occasionally in FS airport overhead views default scenery peeking through. In ADE9X you can add exclude polygons or areas based on a scenery onject class type if needed. When you are done and have compiled it I recommend placing this new afd type .bgl in a added in your FS hard drive such as H:/AFCADs/scenery and adding it to the FS scenery library in position one to give it top priority (after renaming the old one's extension in the Portland folder).See how that works.

Thanks I will give it a try. Although that will mean making a ADE (or AFCAD) file from scratch and Im really bad at that.

You do not have to necessarily start from scratch. Just load in the AFCAD or AFX file .bgl directly and take out or add to it, or modify existing values.
