Sharing one FS9 installation between two operating systems

Featured Replies

My PC has three partitions - one for Windows XP 32-bit, one for XP Pro 64-bit and a much, much larger one with my FS9 installation in it. The latter was originally installed with XP 32-bit: I just pointed the installation to the separate partition. No problem..Now I would like to test out the same FS9 setup in Windows XP x64, but how do I get the OS to read from my FS9 partition. The only way I can think of is install FS9 into the XP x64 partition and then change all the registry entries to point to the installation on the dedicated FS9 partition. The only problem is that I am not sure that I will find all the relevant registry entries by searching for "Flight Simulator 9". Maybe even then this won't work.Anyone any better ideas before I give it a try? Thanks!Martin

That will work OK. I think there is only one registry entry of interest. Don't forget to edit or copy the relevant files in your user "documents and settings" as well as your "my documents" folder. You might want to just let fs9 rebuild fs9.cfg after you point the shortcut to the existing installation.scott s..
