Graphics Card Failed?

Featured Replies

Hi, so pretty much I turned on my computer this morning and it won't display anything. All the fans are running (louder than usual) and the lights are on everything. I tried resetting CMOS but that didn't work so I started taking parts out and testing. When I take out my graphics card, this time my computer sounds normal and the fans don't run so loud. Does that mean it's my graphics card that's causing no display? I don't happen to have a a spare graphics graphics card to so I'm not 100% if that's the problem (also, this motherboard doesn't have any integrated graphics to test with)What do you think?specs:e8400 3.5ghz9800 gtx+msi 750i mb750w psu4gb ram ddr2

HelloIt does sound like your Graphics card has died.Go to your nearest PC shop , buy the cheapest card there, if that cures the fault then go back to the shop and exchange the cheap card for something better, they wont refuse the extra money .GTX260 if your on XP or GTX460 if your on W7, those are the sweet spots regarding price/performance

Ok thanks, I think I'm going to be going with the GTS 250 (equivalent to 9800 gtx+ at 100 bucks) because I don't really have the money for much right now. That is of course if the graphics card is causing the problem.
