Runway Lights on in Daylight IMC?

Featured Replies

When an airport reports IMC (less than 3sm/1,000 ceiling), even when it's daylight the tower will turn on runway lights and the rotating beacon. I know that FS2002 never portayed this and only had runway lights after the end of daylight. Is this the same in FS9? I thought I read here that runway lights could be set to come on in daylight IMC, but I can't find the post so I most likely imagined it :)Thanks,Bruce.

When the vis goes down the lights come on just as they should, seems to work ok here for me.Hornit

It was *always* like that, in lo vis, regardless day or night, runway lights will come on!! This is since I can think, at least I'm sure it was already the case in FS98...

FS2002 does switch on runway lights in low vis.

Hi all,Thanks for the replies. I'm not somewhere where I can try this at the moment, but maybe I'm really losing it :). I could have sworn that I had set up FS9 wx to be IMC and the lights remained off.I need a vacation from bean counting, I think! Thanks again,Bruce.
