Need Help - Configuring FS9 for Multiplayer Behind a Linksys Router

Featured Replies

Fellow sim enthusiasts,I've read the ports requirements from Microsoft to enable FS9 to function in multiplayer mode behind a NAT device. Would like some help in configuration from someone who specifically has a Linksys Router. I've the BEFSR41. I haven't been successful so far. Would appreciate any help.Regards,Dave Vega

Hi Dave - I have a BEFSR41 also and have no problems. Remember, FS9 uses the DX8 (yes, dx8) DirectPlay interface. Check the MSoft site for the port requirements. Then go into the router setup/advanced/port forwarding and enable the specified ports and forward them to your local machine IP ( ie - 192.168.1.101, etc )That's all there is to it for a basic setup. HTH,Vic
