Nvidia 9600GT upgrade

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,I have a 9600 GT and was wondering if an upgrade to a 460 GTX would give a significant boost in both performance and visual quality in FSX.The rest of my system is E8500 @ 4ghz,4GB DDR2 RAM,Windows XP SP3.I run FSX at 1440x900 since it's the max resolution of my monitor. Thanks for any advice.Richard

I can tell you that for sure I will improve image quality and will also add something like 20 additional fp/s on a lower end system like yours. It's worth it. a member recently upgraded from a 8800GTX to this card and saw that kind of imrovement!

Yes but you should pair it with a fast CPU (i7 860 @4.2) to take full advantage.jja

Thanks for the comments.I wish I could upgrade CPU as well, but it would mean an upgrade of MOBO and RAM ,which I would like to avoid for the moment.I guess I'm looking for a quick improvement.
