October 13, 201015 yr I had to reinstall due to some corrupt files which were proven very difficult to locate. So what I did was copy the FS9 full directory to a different hard drive, and gave it a different name. Then I uninstalled all add and FS9. Then I did a brand new install using the original discs. I went to the regedit/local machine/Software/Microsoft yo see if there was any entry related to Microsoft FS9 left, and it was not. Then I did a brand new install using the original discs, when I started up, I got an error mesaage stating that a specific aircraft was not found. That aircraft was the default aircraft that I had in my previous install. So there is still some configurations left somewhere. I am running windows 7 pro 64 bit. Does anybody knows where I should look?ThanksJuan

It would still have the reference to your changed default flight in it.It FS finds it during a re-install, it does nor create a fresh new one.All you should need to do at this point is to rename it as FS9.cfg.BAK (to disable it) and restart FS2004. A fresh new FS9.cfg file will be created using all of the original default settings. You can copy and paste any special "tweaks:" you may have had into the new one from the one you disabled. This file may be useful if you ever need to do a un-install and re-install again:http://library.avsim...isc&DLID=123907Hope that helps.
October 14, 201015 yr Author Thanks for your reply David, I already had a copy of your tips and tricks for Uninstalling and Re-installing FS2004. Unfortunately I got it after I had already uninstalled everything (including FS2004) from the Control Panel program uninstall function. So there were things left out as the default flight ( .FLT extension file) left in the document section which was pointing to an addon aircraft which of course does not get loaded in the original installation. In reading your article I found that something I did in installing my sceneries was probably the cause of my out memory issues. It was the fact that I added blank "Texture" files to sceneries that came without them. What I found was that if I added them, without the texture file, FS( adds them but i only see the scenery number but their name in the list was blank, I realized that by adding an empty texture folder I got the name of the scenery correctly to the scenery listing. Of course I did not know what side effects I was causing. How can I get the name of the scenery to display without adding the empty texture folder? Thanks again DavidJuan
