October 18, 201015 yr Watched the episode last night... typical Undercover Boss episode. Obviously they didn't spend much time on the technical aspects of an airline job, with the CEO getting his hands dirty with a cabin cleaning crew, a multidisciplinary ticket counter/ramp worker, dumping the lavs, and trying his hand at being a flight attendant. I caught a few Undercover Boss episodes last year, and they seemed to focus on the CEO's trials and tribulations on the job a little more... this year's show seems to focus a bit more on the people he is interacting with, their hard-luck stories, and then the CEO feeling bad for them and shelling out vacation time, a scholarship, or some other feel-good plan which may help the one person, but probably won't do much for the corporation. What was a relatively interesting show about how certain companies run and how upper management didn't have a clue is now a vehicle for making it look like the CEO's "have a heart".The cynic in me is now feels like he is watching a Dilbert comic whenever I watch Undercover Boss. I wince whenever these CEO's say they're going to put the featured employee in charge of, or otherwise on a commission, committee, or focus group to "improve" the working condition they discussed. Committees are where most good ideas go to die. Anyway... it was a decent enough episode of the show. I guess the show itself has lost a bit of its luster for me. (shrug).
