October 13, 201015 yr Hi Bryan,I have experienced the following incident the last two flights on the same route:The flight is short approx. 70 nm., so my cruising altitude is set at 9000 ft.After Descent preparations my FO reports 'Approach setup complete' and right after announces 'Flight Level 100', although we are still at 9000 ft.

The buffer is there to ensure the call plays. If I made the trigger point exactly 10,000 feet only, there's a chance the it could get skipped because the condition would only be true for a fraction of a second. In an update, I'll reduce that size of the buffer for you. 200 feet should be sufficient.Cheers, B.
