October 14, 201015 yr Good morning everyone, I have spent my entire Flight Simualor life flying within the confines of Europe. Having flown anywhere from The Bay of Biscay to The Urals (with the odd foray to Dubai), I thought I would try a flight in The States/Canada. I completed a really nice flight from San Diego (KSAN) to Vancouver (CYVR), in my Wilco Airbus. I had forgotten how stunning the scenery is over there. A really nice experiance. I noticed however that on the Sids and Stars charts for both airports there was no mention of any Transitional Altitude. So my question (which hopefully is an easy one) is, what is proceedure for Transitional Altitudes over there ? There obviously must be one but was surpised that there was no mention of these on the charts that I had. Many thanks. Tristan. Tristan Living in the beautiful Chilterns. October 14, 201015 yr Its 18000 feet accross the whole of the U.S. That's why some unexperienced U.S. pilots look at you as if your crazy when you talk about FL80, or FL130 etc over here! October 14, 201015 yr Author That's great. Thanks Sam and Rafal. I now know why the Alititude indicator on my A320 blinks at 18,000. Tristan Living in the beautiful Chilterns.
