September 17, 200322 yr IN FS2002 my CH pedals work great, but in FS2004 with the same settings they are frustrating to say the least.Anyone solve this issue?
September 18, 200322 yr Are you using the gamport or usb version? I plugged my usb yoke and petals into my new Dell XPS and they worked fine. I didn't load any software or drivers from their CD.... XP recognized them and that was that.I know this doesn't help your problem but it would help if we knew what operating system you have and if the petals are usb or gameport.
September 18, 200322 yr Commercial Member I've noticed no difference in my ProPedals USB between FS2002 and FS2004. Can you be more specific as to the problem? September 18, 200322 yr To have SUPERB CH pedals feel, follow through with this AVSIM tip which I had also missed.http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...d=144710&page=5The only problem is I might have to buy CH joystick to make aileron and elevator feel as good as my rudder now :-)Ben
September 19, 200322 yr Thanks for the replys, been under the weather....Anyhow, I have the USB ProPedals and used the setup tip mentioned.Works perfect in FS2002, I'm able to taxi and keep centered while taking off with minimal effort. Corrections are as expected, natural. But in FS2004, the C172 seems to pull more to the side taking off and the corrections applied are too sensitive. I made the settings the same in the FS apps, leaving fs2002 at default and changing fs2004 to match it.I looked at the cfg files and noticed that in 2004 there are specific rudder entries that do not exist in 2002.Could someone who has succeeded with there Rudder setup post some details.I guess there are 4 areas we need:1) Control Panel Gameport Setup for Rudder2) FS2004 Settings - Rudder setup3) fs2004 Settings - Realism settings4) FS2004 cfg file rudder entries. Thanks!
September 19, 200322 yr Hi,I also had big trouble with the USB ProPedals. I got some advice from some thread to install CH's Control Manager software.I went to CH site, downloaded the software, installed it and calibrated the pedals. Still in the Control Manager I changed the axis settings for the X, Y and Z axis (clicked the down arrow to the left of the gain diagram) to make the pedals less sensitive. I also defined a comfortable null zone for the brakes. My last last step was to reset Control Sensitives for the pedals in FS2004 settings.Worked for me - not to sensitive brakes or rudder. Hopefully it'll may work for you as well.Good luck ;-)/Ulf B
September 27, 200322 yr Finally solved the rudder issue by removing all joystick entries in fs9.cfg file. Now all is fine, must have been conflicting or incorrect settings.
September 28, 200322 yr There is also a new WinXP patch for the USB 1.1 and 2.0 handlers that is said to add some framerates (supposedly the OS was eating CPU cycles polling the USB devices) and also provide additional stablity for spikes and erratic behavior.Available at the usual Windows Update site.MDavis
September 29, 200322 yr You might try simply copying all your JOYSTICK settings (ie. CH stuff) across from your FS2002.CFG to your FS9.CFGI couldn't for the life of me get my yoke and pedals set up properly in FS9, but when I finally tried that it worked a treat! I now have CH Yoke, Pedals and a joystick all working in harmony just as they did in FS2002.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
