September 24, 200322 yr Excellent! Does anything need tweaking? Does it use a default 2D panel? It looks like a great aircraft, just my type! :)
September 24, 200322 yr It excellent in FS2002, but does not come with a panel. HOwever there are a couple great panels currently available to complete the experience. One is by Marco Spada and another by Mario Coelho. I'm actually using both at the moment on different liveries. Having trouble deciding which I like the best. May well keep both in service.Racartronit means something, but I just can't remember what
September 24, 200322 yr Sorry to disagree Racartron but these two panels are really no that great. I'm not here to bash Mario or Marco and in fact I have publically praised one of Mario's panels in the past and even voted for him on the other site. Both E170 panels have pretty sloppy bitmaps. Mario borrowed Grabowski

September 24, 200322 yr Hey, Mauricio, All I mean is they're the best available at the moment. When better ones come out, I'll certainly give them a shot as well.As an example, I currently have 6 different Boeing 727-200 panels that I'm always swapping in and out in an effort to find the one that is the most realistic AND AND is suffucuently functional AND provides the best all around view. Course the last criteria I can tweak in the panel.cfg file. But not knowledgable enough to mess with the other stuff.BTW, is Bill Grabowski's ERJ panel specifically for the 170? I already have the payware FSUIPC product.Racartronit means something, but I just can't remember what
September 24, 200322 yr Nope, Bill's panel is for the Embraer Regional Jet 135-145 line but if you're not picky, the general layout is close enough and they share the "motorcycle" yoke. As I said, Mario's E170 panel uses some main gauges from Bill's ERJ145 panel albeit, with less functionality. This panel is among the best freeware panels ever built and has been updated for FS9. I'm not a fan of Bill's bitmaps, not so much the main bitmap but the side views seem to have come out of a comic book. The E170 can be set up for excellent passenger wing views so you can throw away the 2D cockpit bitmaps. Try it out. if your machine can handle it you're in for a treat.Cheers,Mauricio
September 24, 200322 yr Thanks, I've already grabbed it from AVsim. 2 files right? the original was for FS2000 and the upgrade for FS2002. I'll stick it in as an alternate panel and see how it does on my antiquated box.Racartronit means something, but I just can't remember what
September 25, 200322 yr I see what ya mean about the increased functionality of Bill's panel. Also, I replaced those weird side view bmps with Mario's and have a very nice compromise setup until the "perfect" 170 Panel comes along. ;)BTW, I'm running an old Dell XT500 P3 with 64Mb RAM and a GeForce 2 Ultra (64Mb) graphics card and the panel works just fine.Racartronit means something, but I just can't remember what
September 25, 200322 yr Embraer 170 gets my vote as the UGLIEST twin jet I have seen for a long time. I CANNOT believe anyone would design such a unattractive frumpy looking piece of rubbish.
