Dreamwings Embraer 170

I think its the real plane rather than the FS model. I can't agree on either count I'm afraid. Both the real plane and the FS version are stunning. Congratulations to the FS developers for putting out such a beautiful rendition.Kind regards, Andrew J MyersEGNX

They worked really hard on this and have done an outstanding job.I would ask you choose from the following choices of POV:1. If you are refering to the FS Design Team of the E170, I would ask that with your long experience of FS design that you design a LESS UGLY, and a LESS frumpy looking peice of trash!! And perhaps next time think of a better way to express your first post in a public community. Welcome by the way!!2. If you are not refering to the FS design team of the E170, you must disregard #1 and know that today is a bad day and I am grumpy!!

Some folks just like to get themselves noticed when they first enter a room. Not a bad thing in itself. However, it's the method they use that will forever remind us of them ;)Racartronit means something, but I just can't remember what

Thanks Anthony and Andrew! :)"I CANNOT believe anyone would design such a unattractive frumpy looking piece of rubbish."Comments like this always discust me! Tommy

Yup, this "Riscokid" guy really lit this thread, thets fur sure. He probably ain't coming back so let's ease on the pedal. I'm almost 100% sure he was talking about the real aircraft and not the virtual counterpart. Seeing Tommy came in I want to express my gratitude to Dreamwings for what is definitelly the best virtual model of what will prove to be one of the greatest long haul "regional" jets ever built. Notice how Embraer threw away the "Regional Jet" (ERJ) thing? I mean this bird can operate from runways previously reserved for turboprops and pistons but at the same time, I understand there will be a version with transoceanic capabilites. It has Embraer's trademark "sexy" nose - ask the ERJ145 fans - and a double bubble fuselage (more cargo) coupled with a slim and curvy rear end. And those beauties under the wings look like they were born to be there and nowhere else. The pictures I've seen of the cabin with its four abreast seating strike me as very roomy and comfty. Can't wait till my local airline gets its act in gear and orders a couple of these birds. I'm even thinking of writting a letter to my president suggesting he ditch the A320 he's planning on buying in favor of the E170.Racartron, you say your rig runs Bill's panel OK? My Athlon 650 GF4200 128MB 8X box brings frame rates from a steady 20 on any other panel, to low 8's or 7's on Bills panel. Probably has something to do with the fact that I don't own FSUIPC and a gauge must be hogging resources. If I knew where to get a nice panel.cfg editor I would try putting some conventional gauges on Bills bitmap just for kicks... Mauricio

If I knew where to get a nice panel.cfg editor I would try putting some conventional gauges on Bills bitmap just for kicks ----Hey Mauricio, all things are relative ;) With the slider setup I have in place plus all the addon visual stuff, I normally get 12-14fps in the cockpit for the first couple thousand feet. Once I'm clear of the cpu hogging bits the rate settles in at 17fps (locked value)Bill's panel runs marginally slower, but only in the "noise level". I'd guess from limited flights so far I'm getting 10-12fps on the ground but it climbs to the locked value once aloft -- unless I turn around an look at something imposing like a complex airport or the like.Racartronit means something, but I just can't remember what

I actually like what's been done with the CRJ 700. My main complaint with the 200 was I felt entombed flying in it--the pax windows are so low, that it's a challenge to see out. Mind you, I've only flown short 300 mile hops in it. Next week, my wife and daughter get to fly an 800nm hop, and I'll be joining them two weeks later. But at least they're a bit shorter :)The 700 has raised the windows--makes a world of difference. The second thing the 700 has going for it is engine location. Quieter, from a pax perspective. I favored the MD-80 for that reason. On takeoff roll, could hardly hear a thing if you were smart and asked for a seat up front. So I think the 700 competes very well with the 170 at least in terms of pax comfort.... They are both fine aircraft, and I think you'll see a mix of both in that corner of the aviation market. Also, I don't view any aircraft--even the Airbus, as being associated with one nation over another. I'm sure you were being sarcastic, but if you weren't, no need to raise the issue here. The CRJ, 170, Airbus, and even the Boeing are "world" aircraft in the sense they have parts from all over the world installed. Being proud of what Boeing's done, I hope they hop on board with a regional jet of their own.... One idea--a true "wide body" regional jet that gave every pax their own armrest, just like the A380 will do for the long haulers...Back to simming.... Dreamwing's 170 is a great effort--hope to see more from their team!-John
