Typical ADDON Scenery folder?

Featured Replies

I think I messed up the structure of my ADDON SCENERY folder under FSX. Would someone please post a typical structure of how the categories such as Scenery, Texture, and World should be situated under this folder? I'd appreciate it. I'd like to straighten it out if it indeed is laid out incorrectly.Stan

Here's the best explanation of the addon scenery folder: http://forums.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?160395-Add-on-Scenery-Files-In-Fsx .Best regards,Jim

Hi Stan. The Microsoft Flight Simulator X/Addon Scenery folder stock only contains a Scenery and Texuture folder and no "World" folder. The World folder is under Microsoft Flight Simulator X/Scenery/World which also contains its own Scenery and Texture folder. The Scenery folder being the one where AI traffic .bgl's typically go.The Microsoft Flight Simulator X/Scenery folder contains the following folders going all the way down to a folder called "0000". Click to see the screen shot since it will show as a red X.Then of course there's the Microsoft Flight Simulator X/Texture folder as well. Not sure why your Microsoft Flight Simulator X/Addon Scenery would have a World folder in it, unless you installed a scenery that included a Wolrd folder containing something that was supposed to be dropped in the Microsoft Flight Simulator X/Scenery/World folder.Hope this is what you were looking for.POST EDIT: Jim posted a good link while I was typing this as well.

Yeah, somethings not right. Probably some scenery that you installed than either the installer didn't place the contents of what goes in the FSX/Scenery/World folder or maybe you installed something manually and did the same thing essentially. What is in the World folder that you have in the Addon Scenery folder? Is it a traffic bgl or something like that? If so, you could probably just take the traffic bgl and put it in the FSX/Scenery/World/Scenery foler.
