September 30, 200322 yr I live in Lisbon (Portugal) area and I was used to seeing the Lisbon bridge in rather good detail under FS2002. Now in FS2004, and although the bridge colour is more realistic than it was in FS2002, it misses all the cables! Only the platform and the pillars are visible, both the main and suspension cables are gone.I do not think it is a graphics board problem.Has anyone else experienced the same problem? Has Microsoft delivered an "unfinished" work?Regards,
September 30, 200322 yr Yes Domingos I have the same problem... :-( Os "rapazes da Microsoft" n Regards, Hugo Bravo LPPT
September 30, 200322 yr So true...I loved flying around Portugal and out to the Azores in FS2002 with Tony Agramonts great scenery! I still use it!Tony
September 30, 200322 yr Domingos I too, enjoy flying around Portugal and that area to the south of the city.I spent 3 years at Seixal, just south of Lisbon before I retired, putting in a new General Motors plant (from start to finish). I lived right on the beach down at Sesimbra (somebody has to do it). At times I lived at Cascais or "The Ritz" (Downtown) early on before the new plant was built. (tough life !!!)I was not a flight sim guy back then. Now I know why all those airplanes flew right over the Ritz, and Amoreiras when we were shopping.I've looked for the Statue of ******* near the south bridge, and the Pena Palace up at Sintra, but to my surprise they are missing.I did find the new "Northern" bridge across the Tagus. (I think. I did find a bridge up that way.) I find the area down around Sesimbra amazingly well done for that area. I had some Portugal mesh in FS 2002 that made it even better. I like to fly from Setubal, along the coast west, and then north, making an approach over the bridge into Lisbon, in a jet. The area of that southwest "point" out there is so real. I can't believe how close it is to the real thing, as I've made that approach so many times in real life as a passenger. Even the colors of the ground are generally correct out that way, as I drove around alot out there too. That flight brings back a lot of pleasant memories, as I pretend to look down from above.I still listen to Lisbon radio stations on the Web sometimes.Regards...Bob (Lecanto, Fl)AMD, Athlon XP, 1800+MSI, K7T266 XP ProPC 2100 DDR, 1024 MBXP, Home Edition Elsa GLadiac 920, GF3/64Mb andPNY, Verto nVidia TNT 2-M64/32WD, 100 MB, 7200, Ultra 100Sound Blaster, Audigy MP3+CH Prod, VPP Yoke - Sound CardCH Prod, Pedals - Sound Card
September 30, 200322 yr Author Dear Bob,It is nice that flight simming contributes to recall your memories from Portugal. I am sure you would like to visit the area now, as there have been many improvements since the General Motors factory was built. The Expo 98 in Lisbon contributed a lot to that. The new brigde (Vasco da Gama bridge)is not represented in the scenary. Of course the Christ statue would be an important landmark, but it is not there. Otherwise the geography of the area is reasonably well depicted. As for vegetation I would say there is an excess of trees where, in some places, there are almost none. I am referring mainly to the small islands in the river Tagus, which appear now covered with trees...I hope that soon there will be an add-on scenary for Portugal, but I doubt the Pena Castle in Sintra will be there...I liked to read your message and hope to hear from you again.Best Regards,
