Best drivers for my GF4 TI4200?

Featured Replies

Hi folks, which drivers can you suggest for my ASUS TI4200? So many out there....And which settings in Riva Tuner RC14?Thanks in advance as usualLuigi ;-)

You may get a wider range of responses in the hardware forum. I'm using the 30.82 drivers and I swear by them.... They are stable, and performance is good on all my applications.Riva Tuner settings are more a matter of taste. To access the settings I describe, you'll have to apply the patch included in one of RivaTuner's subfolder.... Basically, I set LOD to -.5, aniso to 2x, and I leave AA at 2x.... In order to set the -.5 LOD, the patch has to be applied however...I generally don't change drivers unless I have a good reason to do so--if I were seeing graphics artifacts, or saw poorer performance than one would expect with my system, or have problems with stability, I'd try other drivers. Otherwise, my opinion is that there's no miracle driver that is obviously better than the rest....-John

I agree with John, I use the 30.82's religiously. I tried the latest and they just didn't seem to run as smooth and easy as the 82's, I never had that distinct feeling of satisifaction that I do with the 30.82's. So I switched back and they will stay with my system indefinately. I'm happy, I have no reason to tweak around with drivers. same Riva Tuner settings as well except -.4 for LOD. No big deal tho.Tom

I use the latest official driver from Nvidia. The 45.23 series are by far the best I have had on my Asus GF4 ti4200 128MB.See you in the fence...CYYZ
