October 30, 201015 yr This aircraft is released. I'd like to have some opinions. Anybody?Lmaire Real Deraps
October 30, 201015 yr Got the Turbine Toucan....more like a 'wildcat". It's going to take some real practice to take off and land with control. It's unbelievably fast and easy to become a liitle frustrated with. I've taken off and landed several times now, and I'm starting to get the hang of it. Joystick movements must be very, very slight for stability control. Not sure just how realistic it is.Looking for other opinions.Stan
October 30, 201015 yr Probably very realistic. It's an aerobatic aircraft with extremely big ailerons http://www.turbinetoucan.com/aircraft/
October 30, 201015 yr David Kervinen builder & a pilot of the Turbine Toucan supplied technical data and much insight into how the aircraft performs, some of the information was unsettling like the 1800 foot pounds of torque , landing was complicated by the propeller drag when throttled back , he described it as being "thrown into your harness" and when adding the least amount of thrust it has a tendency to over speed. The ailerons and control surfaces were designed to be in the prop wash for control during low speed and vertical manoeuvres and have great authority , and as noted need a light touch on the stick.
November 1, 201015 yr Infinity Entertainment the Company that operates The Turbine Toucan and its builder David Kervinen were looking to Virtual Pilots to develop new 3D manoeuvres that could be incorporated into the acrobatic routines performed at air shows. The engine in the TT is powerful enough to take a page or two from the RC catalogue of stunts , http://www.blaineaustin.com/3d_tips.htm , the link provides a number of ideas to try out , FSD is offering Free Aircraft or scenery for video submissions of your acrobatic skills , all you need to do is upload a video to Utube and send an email to FSD with a link to the submitted footage.
