October 11, 200322 yr Hey folks. I've been doing my best to keep up with all the forums. I realize that not all of you can fly this plane I have modelled. I personally can't fly it either on my system . I'll have to wait till next year. I only built this plane for you guys to enjoy it and I'm sorry if your comp can't handle it. The model has 38000 polys which is far less then some other models. The MDL is only 1.6 MB which is very small for a plane of this complexity. I use special secret techniques to keep polys low and detail high hehe. What is killing your frames are the new textures and gauges. Yes this plane has almost 100mb of textures so for each livery you are giving up 100 mb. Maybe it was a little too early to release this plane because most computers can't handle it lol. Very sorryIf you are having frame rate problems in VC mode, there are some solutions but they come at a cost. You could if you want use the default 777 gauges, but quite a bit of work is required and I won't go into how to do it. For people with slow comps like me, just don't go into VC mode. Yes you MUST download Eric's panel from the Avsim livery or his website. But do not overwrite the panel.cfg we gave you. I can not answer any FS2004 questions because I only have FS2002. So I made this plane to work for FS2002 by default and other POSKY members are in charge of making it work for FS2004.I think that covers it for now. I'll keep monitoring the forums and do my best to help. The most complicated problem to fix is the frame rate issue. Everything else is very simple to fix, just minor changes needed.Best Regards and I hope you enjoy this plane. I've spent over 2 years on this model. ;)
October 11, 200322 yr Thank you for your great model Sherv.I can assure you it flies very well on my PC.Too bad you can't play with your own model n FS9, but the Posky team has managed to make it FS9 compliant. Thanks posky Minos
October 11, 200322 yr WOW! Two years is a long time!! Sherv I am not sure if you read where I posted about frames, one thing that helped big time for me was removing the gauges from the VC, that way you still have the VC, its just gaugeless, but still nice to look at :-lol
October 11, 200322 yr Glad you like it Cedric :DLOL Kurt, I forgot to mention that.... if you remove the VC gauges you will get much better frames lol, I suggest removing the Co pilot gauges ( unless you like flying as FO then remove the captain's gauges hahaha ) Also remove the SD gauge at the bottom. That should improve frames a lot.
October 11, 200322 yr Also removing (or not installing) the VC textures seems to help alot on my frames as well when cycling through that view. Its reloading of the VC textures messes with the FPS as well :)She flies like a dream though, and the model itself on my system runs maxed out 25 FPS in spot view without the VC gauges and textures.
October 12, 200322 yr I wanted to mention that there will be a non VC A330 with wing views soon. The A332s are done and should be uploaded tonight. The A333s will also be done tonight. These planes are much more friendly on frames. You can also delete the VC textures to save space on your HD. I hope this will make some of you guys happy. ;)
October 13, 200322 yr AWESOME to hear about this non VC of your great A-330's!! Since i am not a big fan of VC, nor do i use it, but i love WINGS Views! And Can't wait till you release these other non VC Models for us!! Thank's for all your work SHERV! MIKE:)
October 13, 200322 yr thanks for the update, however i get unflyable frames on my systemmy system:Celeron 2200 512 MB RAM DDR (Corsair 2CL with heatsink)GF4 Ti 4200 64MB DDRFS2002i understand that it might not be the "ultra" but i would hope that i'll get at least as much frames as with other complex models, like the PMDG 737 with VC.@the same gate, LSZH Flylogic scenery, with the PMDG i get around 7 - 15 fps, unfortunately with yours i'll get 1 - 3 fps max. in all views ;)i don't gibe much on the VC, as i don't use it, so i assume, that a model without VC would at least make it flyable. would this be possible to create a model without VC?cheersMartin X-Plane 11.3x / DCS 2.5.4 / P3Dv4.5 / Aerofly FS 2 Win10-x64 | ASUS Z270E | Intel i7-7700K @4.5GHz | Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB DDR4 | 6TB SSD Samsung 850 Pro | ASUS GTX 1080 ROG STRIX 8GB DDR5X | TM Hotas Warthog | Saitek Combat Pedals | Oculus Rift CV1
October 13, 200322 yr Im going to download the non VC models also, but not because of bad performance. (The new A330's are running pretty good on my computer) Im going to download the non VC ones because I hardly ever use the VC. Maybe when I switch to FS2004 I will start using the VC but in FS2002 I hardly ever use the VC.
