Can't see add on aircraft...

Featured Replies

Well let me first explain the nature of my problem. After Installing FSX, I went and installed the SP1 and SP2 updates. After that I went and put my add on aircraft folders in the FSX Aircraft folder (inside of the simbojects folder). Once the aircraft were added to the folder, I launched FSX, at first none of the aircraft add on aircraft in FSX showed, so I went and checked the "show all variations" option. then my two initial add on aircraft appeared. Now here's the odd part. according to internet articles the add on aircraft should have a blue gray "?" icon box, since these aircraft don't have a thumbnail image, but in my case these incons did not appeared. Instead FSX borrowed the thumbnail of default aircraft and put them instead of these "?" icons.Yesterday, I went and installed additional aircraft into FSX and this is what happened, one of my previous add on aircraft disappeared, and was nowhere to be found. No icon, no text, no nothing, even if I clicked the "show all variation" box. Even more odd if I clicked the white space after the last aircraft that had an icon, then my disappeared model would appear but only one of the variations (paint scheme).Has this helped?System Specs, in the signature below.I see your problem - if this is a native FSX aircraft, then the biggest possibility would be that the aircraft is only compatible with the Deluxe edition, which is nonetheless less than twice the price of the Standard edition. If this isn't the case, then I see that you have installed FSX's service packs in the wrong manner, according to MS. It is suggested that you re-install FSX first. Afterwards, take a short flight, save the flight and then install SP1. Repeat SP1 steps for SP2. Hope this helps,Dave. Let me see how I can take a screen shot. I personally don't know because I am running windows on my MacBook Pro, the keyboard layout is different, but I will do my best.
