November 6, 201015 yr Now that I have finally got my re-install of FSX completed, after several days of frustration, I want to try to avoid the hassle if I have to re-install again...Is there a way to back up the Scenery Library (the part FSX reads, not the scenery itself) so that I don't have to re-activate every scenery area? Hope the question is clear...Thanks!Steve Steve 7 Miles NW of KGCK

Hope the question is clear...Thanks!SteveIt is simple enough to create a backup of the scenery.cfg file which FSX reads On my FSX setup - running under XP - the scnery.cfg which FSX reads and writes to it is located here:C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX\Scenery.CFGThe location will vary slightly depending upon a number of factors, including which Operating System you are using.Use caution however, as there will be "error messages" if you use the backup cfg file and have not re-installed your scenery in the exact same locations where the scenery.cfg expects to find them.Hope that helps
