Problem with Project AI ( PAI )...

Featured Replies

Hi,I downloaded the "PAI Installer", The "Default Commercial Package", the default GA package (with realistic callsigns) and a whole bunch of airlines packages...For some reason, the annoying default AI (Soar, Pacifica, etc..)is still very much present.I read carefully the Readme file but I still don't get it...Perhaps I shouldn't have installed the "default commercial package" and the "default GA Package" as they might only "upgrade" the default (crappy) AI...Am I dumb ?Thanks in advance for your explicit guidance !!!Twister :-)

PAI has their own forum system - might get a faster and more complete answer there.I'd suggest reading and re-reading the info regarding the GA and commercial default packs. I think that if you installed the default GA package and default commercial package, you accomplished nothing - just replaced the defaults that came with FS with exact copies. If you want to remove the default ai, you need to install the default traffic removers. Their readme or website has explicit directions regarding this.Stick with it - you'll enjoy the end result!sg

(1) You can remove the default general and commercial packages with PAI "remove default" software.(2) You can rename the FS2004 traffic030528.bgl file something else, such as traffic030528.bgl.original. That eliminates all the FS2004 generated flights. The only traffic files left will be PAI-generated files.(3) Or, you can move all the FS2004 default aircraft into a folder called something like "unused aircraft". Do this only if you are using some addon aircraft, such as the PSS fleet. FS2004 cannot find any AI aircraft. Leave the C172 in the main aircraft folder, however. If you have to rebuild fs9.cfg, it needs this default aircraft to get started. Otherwise you will get an error message.

Thank you both for your explanations. It clarifies the issue...I'll try to fix it right away !Thanks

Eureka !It works - it's beautiful and I'm happy !!!I made a terrible mistake - instad of using the "default traffic installers" I should have used the "default traffic UNINSTALLERS " !!!Only then can you start installing the different airlines packages...Good bye "Orbit, Soar and all the crappy rest of you"...Welcome to real airlines with real schedules !Warmly recommended !
