Couple Of Questions

Featured Replies

I recently began to fly the MD-11 again, and it's been great, but I have a few questions concerning the general operation of the aircraft.1: How do you refresh the route in the FMC like you do in the 747? In the 747 you right click on the first waypoint to copy it and right click again to refresh. How is this done in the MD-11? Sometimes the route gets messed up, and I need to reconnect and/or refresh it.2: Where is the STEP option you get in the 747 when in plan mode? When I select plan mode in the MD-11 nothing happens in the FMC. I have no way of cycling through the flightplan.3: Does this plane come down like a rock on approach or is it just me? Don't get me wrong, I love flying this thing.

The PLAN display on the ND is similar to the Boeings, and can be used to step through the flight plan with ACT FPLN pages showing.Revisions to the route are done with the LAT REV method, and instead of "promoting" a waypoint on the LEGS page in the Boeing here you will be using the DIR INTC feature.Approaches are normal on glideslope but speeds are higher than you are used to, just make sure you are not above Vappr by more than a gust factor.
