FSX Fatal error

But I mention again the UIAUTOMATIONCORE bug, in case you are runing Windows 7 (64 bits), as it is a predictable source of CTDs after twenty or so times you pull-down the menu bar or right-click on the screen. If this is the case, you wouldn't need to uninstall your add-ons...Cheer,- jahman.
I have to disagree with your statement Jahman. I, and probably thousands of other Windows 7, 64 bit users do not get the uiautomationcore.dll error when using FSX. It is just one of the files that comes with the dotnet framework and, if you get the error, you probably don't have an fsx addon installed correctly triggering the dotnet error. Here's more info on the uiautomationcore.dll: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms747327.aspx . I do think you are on the right track regarding the OP placing too much stress on FSX as the PMDG MD-11 is complicated and does provide more stress than normal. Hope he can figure out the problem! The exception code he indicated in the OP states he had a memory exception error and that's a common error for many. It could mean a bad install of his video card drivers or bad memory or too much overclocking or bad memory module(s) to name a few.Best regards,Jim

Thanks for the clarification, Jim! I had thought the UIAUTOMATIONCORE file was native to Windows, but I see now it is native to .NET.In either case, some users have reported CTDs after 20 mouse clicks, and the CTDs have been fixed according to what was suggested in the thread I referenced. So it appears the 64-bit UIautomationCore.dll v. 6.1.7600.16385 dated 7/13/2009 that you use would also solve the problem. Still, the part I don't get is how come MS Udate doesn't install the newer version automatically (or do some users still not use MS Update)?Cheers,- jahman.

Hello again,I noticed in REX2 that I had the cloud textures on HD, I think that might have been an issue as well. I've just started a new flight, another longhaul, to test the new (much lower resolution clouds) settings.I experienced something totally strange 41 minutes after takeoff. Cruising at FL330 everything froze again.. but I let it hang in the hope (well, maybe not hope) that I would get an error report out of it so I could ask you guys to have another look.. But it never crashed. After some 5 minutes it started up again, as if nothing happened. Now on 2:30 of flight time and its still running.Regarding MD-11 and how heavy it is.. yes, it is indeed quite the add on to be running. However, I am running a good 20-25 frames on the ground (stock airports) and in flight 26.5 to 27 (locked at 27). So it seems my rig is handling the MD-11 quite nicely. I am using 2.5Gb of a total of 8Gb of RAM. Core 1 is maxed out and the other 3 are running at around 50 percent. CPU temps have peaked at 62C, which is acceptable for high load on the Q9450 (running at 3.4MHz btw).Anyhow, I'll keep testing, and keep fiddling till I can finish a flight... I am hoping to get this all fixed before the NGX comes out, I want to be able to fly it when it does. Thanks again for all your feedback and sharing of your experiences.

Good to hear things are working out for you.Just remember FSX is a 32-bit app, so it can only use 4 GBy RAM :-)Cheers,- jahman.
