Bad Performance After Computer Upgrade

Featured Replies

Oh and also set the taskbar to auto hide or run in full screen mode, the taskbar is known to slash the FPS in half when a window is touching it while in the 7 Basic theme.

Well here is an update,Mission accomplished. I completely removed FSX and started from the beginning using Nick's guides. Then followed the guide for setting up CFG and graphic settings from the link here http://www.flightsimworld.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=191071.Frankfurt is pushing 20 fps now (on max settings) and 2-3 FPS more on high settings which is acceptable for me. Considering this is at 1920x1080 resolution it's pretty good. Outside of EDDF I get 40-50 FPS on max settings. :Applause: A couple of more things to help people with the same problem I had that are reading this post. Try to limit your framerate and set it to unlimited. For me setting to unlimited is 5 FPS faster than setting to limited at 30. I don't know why. When you buy an expensive processor don't be stingy with the motherboard!!! I made that mistake and my processor is able to run six cores at 4Ghz, stable after overclock with a good motherboard. Proof:

Because of my poor decision in motherboard I can't get the best out of my CPU.A special thank you to all the people that posted tips and helped me. Thank you to Nick and ___'s posts. (yes that's actually his name)I am planning to get myself a nice motherboard so I can overclock my processor to 4Ghz. I have no doubt FSX will be even better when that happens.Cheers

Just saw your post, I have an AMD 1090T X6 paired up with an MSI 890FX GD-70, Gigabyte 460GTX and put simply this is the best system I have ever had. It was very easy to get it to run Stable at 3.8ghz on air, temps haven't gone any higher than 42C. I haven't tried to go any higher with the OC, as it works well for me, though I am only at 1280 x 1024. I mostly use FSX for GA aircraft, so no problems with FPS

well, your CPU is unlocked, so I would say you should be able to get a good OC even on a not so good board. I used to have a 1090T @ 4GHz on a board with that chipset.what is keeping you from geting any higher now? temps maybe? what HSF are you using?

Hi, in the video I posted above concerning the OC of the 1090T the board has an option in the BIOS called AI Tweaker. My board does not have that option. I have the option of increasing performance by up to +12% in BIOS. That's about it.If you have any advice how to do things better I will be happy to try it out! I am a bit of a noob when it comes to OC.
