October 18, 200322 yr First a vent...WHAT A WEEK!! I blew away the partion housing FS9 and ALL ALL my add-ons so I've been spending the better part of the last few days downloading and re-installing ALL those files. The PAI stuff is going to need a month to reinstall. Ahh well, let that be a lesson to me and if any of you fine folk here learn something from my goof-up, it's to BACK-UP YOUR DATA!! Now on to my question....Can someone please tell me where I can find the replacement sun flare effect file?! I searched through the Avsim library can can't find them! Thanks for your patience :-boomMikehttp://www.members.shaw.ca/madamo/boeingsig.jpg
October 18, 200322 yr Did you know that there are programs available that can recover partitions that have been deleted or corrupted as the data will stay there until you either fully format the drive or overwrite it with new data... saves a lot of hastle unless it went up in a puff of smoke in which case it's not really much help,As for the sun Flare, I didn't know that there were any replacements, their definately not on AVSIM and i've looked on flightsim.com and can't find them there either but if there are actually some that improve over the default then i'd like them too
October 18, 200322 yr Hi Mike,Sorry to hear about your partition boo-boo. I searched the Avsim library for the filename and, I don't know why, but it's not there. The filename was 'flare.zip'. There is a file of the same name on flightsim.com but it's not the same thing. I use that file/mod myself. You can see yourself in a couple screenshots I posted in the screenshot library just today if you want to look and make sure we're talking about the same thing. The titles start with 'Eaglesoft Hawker 400XP'. If you send me an e-mail address I can send the file to you. Just use the Avsim menu to send me a message.Regards,Jim

I was trying to install WinXp Pro eval on another partition on my drive and got the two confused. Formatted my "data" drive, installed WinXp Pro, rebooted and to my horror, there was WinXP Pro and there went all my documents, flight sim stuff, photo's and a host of other material - gone, never to be seen again :-)Live and learn... :-lolThanks,Mikehttp://www.members.shaw.ca/madamo/boeingsig.jpg
