November 20, 201015 yr Is there a way to stop the FO from saying "captain the engines need 3 minutes to cool down" after calling for shutdown check at the end of a flight? I didn't realize that the engines needed to be cooled down before they are turned off? Does this mean that passengers just sit on the plane and wait for the cool down before they deboard? thanks

Does this mean that passengers just sit on the plane and wait for the cool down before they deboard? thanksHi Jim,The cool down timer starts (from memory) when you call 'out of reverse conditions levers taxi'.It usually takes more than a few minutes to taxi to the stand, but I know what you're saying.There's no way to disable that feature.Best, B.
