Visibility?

Featured Replies

Hello allDoes anyone know what causes the 'line' over the sea as seen in the screenshot?ThanksALWuntitled737.jpg

To get rid of that line you should use lower visibility settings. There is no actual solution to this problem since this is directly related to FS9. Maybe, you can also use soft horizons sky sets to reduce this weird line. And make sure in FS9 menu "Extended Terraind Texture" is checked.

Hi and thanks for the advice. Much appreciatedRegardsAlan

Soft horizons won't fix that as it's not the horizon line, but the edges of the grid where fs loads (or doesn't) the extended textures. If you already have 'extended terrain textures' checked within FS, then the only way to really deal with it is to reduce your maximum visibility to try and hide it better. Some people like to use a water texture set which matches the colour of these low res squares, which also helps to minimise the effect. Most people do get rid of it by selecting to use the extended textures however.

I was going to suggest making sure the water texture set being used matches the low res squares. My question (since I don't normally see this issue and I use the default textures) is whether the member maybe has installed an alternate water texture set? I can usually fly with unlimited vis and terrain draw distance but that was only after I made the environment mods that ended up becoming "Soft Horizons" several years ago.Regards,John
