Hello everyone,Been having trouble recently re installing FSX on the new rig. I'm getting an error message like the one bellow. Can any of you guys help me fix this?Specs are: Windows 7 64-bit I7 980X, GTX 480, ASUS RAMPAGE IIIKindest Regards,Alexander Michael896Capture.png

My initial thoughts are that you're not running the install program as an administrator, or you disk is damaged and the data can not be read from it.Possible solutions are to obviously try running as admin, and give your cd a good clean looking for any significant scratches.Hope you can sort it!

First suggestion - turn off UAC - do NOT install FSX in the default (C:\ProgramFiles(x86)) folder - it can cause problems. Depending on your HD setup, create a folder called FSX and install there.Vic

That's a great cpu/gpu combo, and to get the highest benefit, Michael - get a dedicated drive - doesn't have to be big or expensive - and put the sim on that. Keep the OS drive for OS stuff.
